TransLink incompetence of the past comes back to haunt them


TransLink and transit riders alike, are now paying for TransLink’s mistake of not installing turnstiles when they first built the SkyTrain. If they had just looked to other cities like Toronto or dozens of others when designing the Vancouver system, “fare evasion” today would be a non-issue.

As the economy in Vancouver continues its downward slide under the Liberal business party; as more people lose their jobs and/or are forced into minimum wage situations, fare-evasion will only increase due to necessity. Therefore the new TransLink fine levels, we believe, will continue to have zero impact.
